Why should I pay for a consultation?

If you inquiry is a simple one, the Canada Immigration website should be able to assist you.

There are Four Reasons Why You Should Pay for a Consultation

  1. Time Reserved for You – when you pay for a consultation, we reserve the time for you and we focus on you. Often, we will ask you to email or fax documents to us in advance of your privately, reserved time so that when we do talk, we can often provide a full response to your questions. When people contact us asking for “quick” and “simple” answers, we find that most matters are neither. Immigration, Citizenship and Refugee law issues, can be life altering and time sensitive. We think they are worth paying for.
  2. There are only 24 hours in a day – Given the limits of time, we can only respond to so many free inquiries. If you want a free consultation, tell us. We can decide how to prioritize your inquiry. Unfortunately, we cannot respond to all such requests. Yes, there are other lawyers and immigration “consultants” and unregulated “experts” who will provide brief answers for free. You are welcome to contact them. There are often reasons why such advice is provided for free. You have to ask yourself, “if this person is experienced and very good at his/her work, how do they have this free time to give to me?” There are many answers to this question, and we do not wish to speculate as to the answers. Yes, if you can get a free consultation from someone who is qualified and experienced and can fully answer your questions, please contact them.
  3. A Plan for You – In each paid consultation: (1) we listen to your questions and concerns; (2) we ask questions to understand the facts, context and priorities of your inquiry; (3) we provide information about how the “system” works, or your various immigration options, or how to best find a solution to your problem, and more; (4) we try to provide time lines for how your application or case might move forward; and (5) we provide a cost estimate for how much we charge and the terms of payment.
  4. Experience, Results and Focus – with over 20 years of experience, we are thankful that our services are in demand. Please check us out on the internet and via other sources. Our services are rated by various “lawyer” rating agencies such as BestLawyers, Lexpert, and others - they refer to us “expert” or “best” in our field of law. When you pay for a consultation, this experience is focussed on your application or case.
How much do you charge?
We charge $350 (full hour) for a consultation depending on the nature and complexity of your inquiry, to a maximum of one hour of time. Before we confirm a consultation with you, we will confirm that rate that applies to you. We accept Visa and Mastercard.
